Once
I had allowed the lighthouse to be used, other associations
came crowding in and I recalled the Fresnel lens that
I had seen in Key West near the old lighthouse there.
The lenses were designed to concentrate the light from
oil lamps into a clear beam, so here I borrowed a lens
from a stock photo, reconstructed the lighthouse cupola
and used an ocean view from a stock set as the background.
The overall look is a cutout filter layer blended at low
opacity and masked in the area of the beam.
